As a child, I was never a fan of the oldies music CD. My ears had yet to mature, and I preferred the fickle pop music of the '80s and early '90s. Ironically enough, the same pop music I liked as a kid can now be found on many an oldies music CD. I guess that means I'm beginning to get old. I first realized this a few years back when I used to teach Greek kids English as a second language. When we talked about music, I would mention certain bands or solo artists only to be met with vacant stares. They knew about Beyonce and Justin Timberlake, but mention Aha or Boyz 2 Men and those children just didn't have a clue. To me an oldies music CD means The Temptations, Nat King Cole, Van Morrison's early stuff, or Otis Redding. Strangely enough, now I love to listen to the odd oldies music CD. I also adore shaking my thing to a Latin music CD or two. As you age your musical taste seems to expand at approximately the same rate as your waistline.
