Singing sensation-Charice Pempengco was born on May 10, 1993 in Cabuyao, Laguna, Philippines. Started singing at the age of 4. Her mom Rachael recognized her singing ability at the age of 7 when she sang "Happy Birthday" with a very loud voice. Having a musical background herself, Rachael took her daughter under her wings and started to tutor and train her with voice lessons. After, Charice started entering singing contests in the Philippines when she was only 13 years old.
Charice won third place on Little Big Star (a local TV talent show) and took third place with the song-"I Will Always Love You", which was originally done by R&B mega singer Whitney Houston (one of Charice's idols). One of many Pempengco's fans who saw this on TV, posted a video of her performance on YouTube, and Ten Songs Production and Extensive Talent Management (a Stockholm, Sweden based record company) discovered this and asked Miss Pempengco to record six songs for them.
She was on Korea's highly rated singing show "Star King" that captured a huge following. Charice Pempengco at the tender age of 15, appeared on The Ellen Degeneres Show, and sang a couple of songs to the amazement of standing ovations from the audience. On April 8, 2008 she sang on The Paul O' Grady Show with "I Will Always Love You". She recently appearred on Oprah Winfrey's show on May 12, 2008, travelling 8,000 miles from the Philippines and sang Whitney Houston's chartbusting song, "I Have Nothing", which was an amazing astounding feat that was witnessed by millions and millions of people. And at late, sang at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas with a host of other big name singer celebrities that was hosted by songwriter/keyboard player David Foster.
Miss Pempengco is an astonishing singer whose time has come and will ultimately perpetuate her vocals into the most recognizable voice of all time.
